I found something very interesing. We get our ads on TUESDAYS. That's right, TUESDAYS. So, if I can, I'll try to sneak an ad out, if I can, without getting caught. Our Merch guy got an attitude with me with the last weeks ad because I took it and was reading it at my register. So, I'm guessing I'm putting my neck on the line for you guys.

ENJOY!

Week Starting 10/1 thru 10/7

SPECIAL DEALS

Pre-Order Guitar Hero II (PS2) and get a bonus Concert T-Shirt. $5 deposit required, available November 7

Pre-Order Battlefield 2142 and get the upper hand with a Best Buy Exclusive weapons download at BestBuy.com/Battlefield2142; $10 deposit required. Available October 18

FREE $30 Gift Card instantly, with purchase of the Xbox 360 Pro System and any advertised Xbox 360 game; must be purchased on same receipt (all advertised 360 games will be listed below)

Xbox 360:

Project Gotham Racing 3 for $30
Perfect Dark Zero for $30
Xbox Live Arcade Unplugged, Vol. 1 for $40
MLB SK6 for $35
Call of Duty 2 Game of the Year Edition for $35 - Lowest Advertised Price
Alaskan for $30 - $10 Instant Savings
Lego Star Wars 2 for $50
Just Cause for $50
NBA 2K7 for $60
Saints Row for $60
The Godfather for $60
Import Tuner Challenge for $60
World Series of Poker: Tournament of Champions for $30 - $10 Instant Savings
Xbox Live Vision Camera for $40 - We Finally Have It In!

Sorry, this week is all about that $30 gift card deal. So, basically, if you buy a 360 and PDZ, you get a $30 gift card which you can use to get PGR3 for free (but you still need to pay the tax) or only have to pay $5 plus tax for CoD2.

UPDATE: I also noticed that online, if you find the Xbox Vision Camera, it's going for $38 rather than $40. It's a $2 savings, but it's still a slight sale.

As one who often reads, but has never posted before, thanks!

You can lose your job for breaking an ad early. Try not tell anyone so the word doesn't spread that you are doing this. I know at circuit I would fire someone if i saw them showing a customer next weeks ad. This can create less volume sales, because they may see something that is cheaper next week than this week and not buy it until next week. (all in on breath) I'm pretty high in the ranks at circuit and I have the right to look at next weeks ad for stradegies on sales. So I'm pretty safe.

Yeah thanks!

But don't feel like you're obligated to do it, we're already happy with what you got! :D

Of course more power to you and we'll be happy with whatever you can get.

@ CC dood -

...wow. That's, um...damn. Didn't know it was like that. But hey, thanks for the heads up. I'm sure they roll the same over at BB. =P

I don't think I'll be doing anything on Tuesday with the ads if I can get fired for doing that. I'll probably break it on Thursday or Friday, you, get you going on the weekend.

I am even higher up than you obviously, how can you create less volume sales by publishing a price point a week early? It creates more volume sales in the following week, but I can understand your arguement if we are close to the end of a sales quarter. But, with your response, you obviously haven't figured that out. You will never get higher than you are thinking like that. Yes, be careful and do not tell anyone. But, truth be told you are doing a service. With us Big Box retailors, volume only increases on sales items. We've trained the customer with our circulars, good or bad. I love the build up, but he is right, do not spread the word. But, keep on doing what you are doing.

"Do not spread the word. But, keep on doing what you are doing."

Completely contradictory.

I understand what you say, but to a certain extent. I'm assuming don't leak the word outside of the FG forums. I'm only posting one page of sales here (or two, given how much game content is printed), so leaking the entire, 20-some page ad could be damaging in some sense.

But as long as I'm not hurting business, then I'll be good. But I do keep my word from what I said in my last post: I won't be breaking the ad on a Tuesday or whenever we first get them in. I'll probably break it either Thursday or Friday, depending on when I work, mainly, and if I feel like taking one.
